This year we also provide an interesting selection of Continuing Professional Development Courses, specially designed for professionals who want to further develop their skills in the a wide variety of veterinary diagnostic imaging fields in small animal and equine medicine.
Courses will be 4, 5:30 or 8 hours on the weekend of 31th August and 1st of September. There will be coffee break approximately every 2h (included). Lunch is not included.
Courses will have a practical approach, with multiple clinical cases, videos and interactive response system for audience with real time integrations on presentation, resulting in dynamic and interactive course. Will have an up to date content, with discussions of any pertinent recent publications.
Lectures will refer mainly to Radiology and Ultrasound, the techniques that are currently most available in the country, with occasional references to other techniques like CT, MRI, and Scintigraphy. Clinical cases will be supplied in advance to participants so that presentation can move faster and, hence, cover more cases.

The 2013 EVDI Annual Scientific Meeting will take place in Cascais, Portugal from the 27th of August to the 1st of September of 2013. The meeting brings together the latest news and advances in veterinary diagnostic imaging, with exceptional educational and scientific value, with several abstracts presentations, as well as 2 daily state of the art presentations. This year we also provide an interesting selection of Continuing Professional Development Courses (CPD), specially designed for professionals who want to further develop their skills in the a wide variety of veterinary diagnostic imaging fields in small animal and equine medicine. The meeting will start by a pre-congress day, with the residents course, followed by a four day scientific congress, with a Ct and MRI technicians course, and a 2 day Continual Professional Development courses (CPD) at the weekend, at the Cascais Mirage conference center.
European EVDI meetings are typically attended by over 225 participants, most are Diagnostic Imaging experts either working in Universities or referral private practices, coming mainly from Europe, and occasionally from United States, Canada, Asia, Australia, South Africa, and South America. We are also expecting more than 200 Portuguese participants in the CPD courses.Cascais Lisbon coastline, and also the Farewell Dinner at the very elegant restaurant located the Estoril coastline with a superb view over the Sea, followed by a "Portuguese style" dance party and night out for the more adventurous ones.
The main meeting venue will be at the Conference Center at the Hotel Miragem. Located in the Cascais bay, this elegant 5-star is set right by the sea and beach and conveniently close to Cascais city center. This event is of great impact in our country and will be a great opportunity for our veterinarians and veterinary companies. Commercial Exhibition
The commercial exhibition hall, with around 450 m2, will be strategically located immediately next to the lecture rooms, in order to promote close contact between participants, visitors, lecturers and sponsors. All the coffee breaks will take place in the commercial exhibition hall. It's located by the main meeting room on the hotel lobby first floor. Coffee breaks will be served in this hall and will last 20-30 minutes. The lunches will be served preferentially in the hotel restaurant and will last no more than 60 minutes. The overall exhibition area is around 450 m2. It will be opened on Wednesday, August 28th, at 08:30 and will be closed on Sunday, September 1rt at 19:00.

Abstracts
The EVDI annual conference has established itself has the major event in European diagnostic imaging, attracting multiple of leading scholars and researchers from renowned universities, specialists, residents and practitioners in this field from around Europe and the world. The Proceedings from the meeting is published on Veterinary Radiology and Ultrasound and is consequently available for citation. The EVDI meeting provides a forum for presenting the latest diagnostic and technical advances in our field from all parts of Europe and the world, bringing together the latest news and advances in veterinary diagnostic imaging, with exceptional educational and scientific value, driving international research and teaching programs.
We hope that also this EVDI meeting will inspire as many veterinary radiologists and researchers as possible to come to the Estoril Coast, exchange opinions on academic issues and meet face to face with their fellow radiologists from all over the world. The meeting will be held in the Estoril Coast just 35 km from Lisbon, at the Hotel Cascais Miragem. August is high season in Portugal, nevertheless special rates for the participants have been negotiated with Hotel Cascais Miragem as well as other hotels in the area, and will be announced shortly.
